It’s great that most chairlifts are made for families of 4, but what happens when you have more than 4? You have to divide and conquer. This piece was commissioned by a family who have to do just that. We are in a similar situation. I loved painting this piece because it reminded me a lot of our family. Our youngest children love to ride on their own. My oldest always wants to ride with us. And even though the chair is 4 wide, when it’s just the three of us, she cozies right up to us.
This family told a similar story and it warmed my heart.
